Awesome Weekend with the Fam

This weekend, my mother, two aunts (Ann and Kathy), and sister came in town for a great visit!!!  Everyone came in town on Friday, so that afternoon, we met up with Kenny's family and went to St. Francisville!  Our first stop was Rosedown Plantation.  We got there a little late, so we weren't able to even go on the plantation grounds, but we took some pics anyway!

 

  

After we left the Rosedown plantation, we drove around to look at all of the beautiful homes, and then we ate at Eight Sisters.  Let me just say that if you are ever in St. Francisville, EAT AT EIGHT SISTERS!  It was amazing!  Nothing fancy...just plain ole soul food.  Yum.  Then, we went on to the Myrtles, which is a plantation that is famous for being one of the "most haunted houses in America."  We thought it apropos, since it was Halloween weekend.  To be honest, we were pretty bummed.  The plantation was beautiful, but we were looking for spooky special effects.  While nobody was spooked, we did enjoy the visit!

Saturday morning, we were able to celebrate the coming of Baby Matthew!  Several of my friends threw me an amazing baby shower at our friends Tori and Brad's house.  It was PERFECT!  I feel so honored to have so many amazing friends and family who love my baby already!

Since Matthew's room has a birdy theme, they decorated the shower with lots of gorgeous bird accents!  So cute!

Blair made this gorgeous flower arrangement!  She even hand-sewed the sweet birds hanging from the branches.

Jenn made CARAMELIZED BACON!  Holy amazingness!  Seriously...have you even heard of such a thing?  Yum.

Ashley made homemade petit fours.  Gorgeous and yummy!

Then, after the shower, we loaded up the family once again and headed to New Orleans.  We ate, walked around, and ate some more.  Seems like the perfect day to me!!!

I don't have any pictures from Sunday because we literally did nothing all day!  We laid around the house and visited for the remainder of their stay, which was really great.  We needed that!

It really was the perfect weekend with our family.  Now we're just counting down the days until Baby Matthew is here!
